Gate

The Canyon Avenue Gate is operated by BCMWC.

The gate exists to protect the communities watershed, water purification, and distribution system.

All BCMWC Members pay the gate expenses via their annual fee. The expenses include maintenance, repair, licensing fees, ancillary equipment, and telecommunication fees.

The gate is operated by proxmity card or radio remote ( ie: "a clicker" ). Sometimes we just call these 'gate devices.'

San Mateo County First Responders have access.

BCMWC Members purchase cards or clickers from the water company.

Once a year Members & Residents are asked to physically review their device's and provide the serial numbers to the GateKeeper. Devices without confirmed serial number and member ownership will be disabled.

Upon sale of a Member's property the devices are disabled. If the cards are transferred to new owners the new owners must pay the purchase price to get the devices turned back on. Of course new owners are welcome to purchase additional devices.

Visitors may use the call box at the gate to call Residents and request access. Instructions are at the call box.

If the Resident is not going to be available the GateKeeper can provide temporary access codes. It's best to do this well in advance.
